In July 2026, the air conditioning in my 2020 Toyota RAV4 quit halfway through my Meals on Wheels route. It was 98 degrees in Grand Junction, and I still had four stops to make. By the time I pulled into the shade at the community center, my neck and arms felt gritty, and my shirt was stuck to my back.

I keep a pack of Scrubzz No Rinse Bathing Wipes in the rear cargo bin. They have been there since June 2025, when Ron and I drove to Boise to see our daughter. That trip had a motel bathroom I did not want to stand in, and the wipes were the reason I did not have to. I have owned that pack about 17 months now.

Hands using a damp no rinse bathing wipe on a forearm beside a water bottle and a towel in a car.

On that July day I parked in the back lot, put the sunshade across the windshield, and used one wipe in the back seat. I dampened it from the 24 ounce water bottle in the door pocket, worked up a little lather, and went over my neck, arms and underarms. Then I patted dry with a clean towel. No rinsing, no sink, and I walked into lunch with Ron feeling like I had washed up at a sink. The air conditioning was fixed that week. The pack stayed in the car.

That is the whole job. It is a dry, disposable sponge wipe with soap already in it, a no rinse bathing wipe. You add water, it lathers, you wipe, you dry. The pack says 25 wipes. The wipe is about 8 by 7 inches and the pack is 2 inches thick, so it is not something I tuck in a pocket. It lives in the car, and that is where it earns its place.

One wipe was enough for my neck, arms and underarms. I did not need a second one. I did not need to rinse. I folded the used wipe into a small trash bag I keep in the car, and that was that. The whole thing took less than five minutes.

I am 58, I have normal to dry skin that turns pink if I use something heavily scented, and I am not looking for a ten step routine. I want clean skin and a shirt that does not smell like the inside of a hot car. Scrubzz is unscented, hypoallergenic and pH balanced, and those are the reasons I tried it. I do not use it every day. I use it when there is no shower and I need one.

A small zip pouch and a folded towel on a car console with a water bottle in the door pocket.

I have other wipes in my life, and they do different jobs. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes live in the center console for my face after the route. I have had those about 26 months. Cetaphil Gentle Face Wipes stay on the bathroom counter for tired nights, about 21 months now. World Amenities singles ride in the zip pouch for my morning walks, about 8 months. None of those would have done what I needed in the back seat that day. A face wipe is too small for a neck and two arms, and a dry towel needs soap and water I did not have.

Clean Skin Club Clean Towels XL are the dry towel I use at home, and I have had those about 18 months. Out and about I can pour water on one and use it as a damp cloth. That works for my face. It does not work for a full neck, arms and underarms after a hot route, because I would need more water and more towel. Scrubzz is the one I reach for when the job is bigger.

The honest downsides are simple. It needs water, and if you forget the water bottle you are stuck. It wants a towel to pat dry, or you will air dry in the car. The pack is a bit big for a small bag, so mine stays in the cargo bin. And it is overkill for just a face. On a normal day I use a smaller wipe and save these for the days that call for them. I would rather have it in the car and not need it than need it and not have it.

I also like that it is unscented. I tried a scented drugstore wipe in January 2025, and my cheeks felt tight and pink for an afternoon. It cleared up on its own, but I did not buy a scented everyday wipe again. Scrubzz does not have that problem for me. It is paraben free, and the package says hypoallergenic and pH balanced. I am not a dermatologist, and I do not play one. If your skin is rashy, itchy or broken out, see a doctor or a dermatologist. A wipe is not a treatment.

What I'd Tell You If We Were Sitting at My Kitchen Table

I would tell you not to buy a pack for a face wipe. Buy it for the day the air conditioning quits, the motel bathroom is not what you hoped, or the hike runs longer than you planned. Keep water with it. Keep a small towel with it. Use one wipe on the parts that got hot and dusty, then pat dry and put on a clean shirt. That is what I did in July, and it is what I will do the next time. If you want something for your pocket, get a small single wipe. If you want something for the car, get the Scrubzz pack and leave it there. That is the whole advice. Nothing fancy.

Keep a pack where the hot days find you

Dry until you add water. One wipe, a little water, and a towel to pat dry. That is the whole method.
